The
oBJECTIVE:
To educate, equip and entertain students +12 years through card and board games in their leisure time, in peer to peer and family setting with life skills and choices not usually in formal education.
Three needs shared a game to engage on career guidance, soft skills and business planning to meet these needs we came up with 3 games namely The Hustle – to deal with career guidance, The Hunch to deal with soft skills and Magnate to deal with Business planning.
THE Problems:
- Students do not know many soft skills and these some times are not taught in school
- Students do not know what it takes to run a simple business.
- Students despise their basic and innate skills learnt at home or in formally and do not think much of vocational as well as academ ic op tions in diff erent measure
Subsequently observed Opportunity:
- To get students to appreciate and under stand soft skills: communication, leader ship, teamwork, work ethic, etiquette etc
- Get students to appreciate what it takes to setup and run a business. What is vital; Needs, choices, decisions, customers, revenue, costs, people, distribution
- Getting students to appreciate mainstream study and how their skills, talents and other opportunities contribute to one ’s life journey.
